The king of fandom is finally coming to Comic-Con. George Lucas, the visionary behind Star Wars, will attend San Diego Comic-Con for the first time in its history, joining an exclusive panel on the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art. The event takes place July 24–27, with the highly anticipated discussion scheduled for Sunday in the legendary Hall H.
Lucas will be joined by Oscar-winning filmmaker Guillermo del Toro and Star Wars prequel concept artist Doug Chiang. Moderating the panel will be actress and Grammy winner Queen Latifah. The discussion will explore the power of narrative art and offer a sneak peek into the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art, set to open in Los Angeles in 2026.
“This is a full-circle moment,” said Comic-Con spokesperson David Glanzer. “Nearly five decades ago, Star Wars made its first public splash at Comic-Con. Now, George Lucas returns to celebrate a lifetime dedicated to storytelling and world-building.”

The Lucas Museum will feature an expansive collection, including works by Norman Rockwell, Frida Kahlo, Maxfield Parrish, and modern comic legends like Jack Kirby and Alison Bechdel. It will also house Lucas’s personal archives—models, costumes, and concept art from his film career.
For fans, this marks a historic milestone: the creator of Star Wars stepping into the Comic-Con spotlight for the very first time.
