In a message shared on social media to mark the second anniversary of Baldur’s Gate 3, Larian Studios founder and CEO Swen Vincke expressed gratitude and reflection on the game’s journey and its impact on the studio’s future.

Released on August 3, 2023, Baldur’s Gate 3 quickly rose to critical acclaim, earning multiple Game of the Year awards and maintaining a “Overwhelmingly Positive” 96% rating on Steam. It also saw a series of significant post-launch updates, with the latest patch arriving in April 2025.

While Vincke remained tight-lipped about what’s next, he hinted that the game’s success has enabled the team to embark on an ambitious new project — one that fans will need to wait a bit longer to see.
