Earlier this month, Bloomberg\u2019s Jason Schreier reported that 2K Games had scrapped the current version of BioShock 4 and paused work on a remake of the original game.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now, in an interview with journalists, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick has reassured fans that BioShock 4<\/em> is still in the works.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cBioShock 4 is going to come out \u2014 I can say that hand on heart,\u201d Zelnick said. \u201cWe\u2019ve had ups and downs, that\u2019s true, and we had to make changes in the studio\u2019s leadership. But we\u2019re facing a tough challenge here, given Ken Levine\u2019s legacy and the success of his games. We need to make sure the new game is worthy of the BioShock name and represents a significant step forward.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Zelnick also dismissed concerns that development has taken too long, arguing instead that player expectations have shifted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cSome of our competitors realized too late that just making \u2018good\u2019 games is no longer good enough. Good is the new bad \u2014 everyone now wants great,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Take-Two had previously stated, in response to Schreier\u2019s report, that it already has \u201ca good game\u201d but wants to turn it into \u201ca great one.\u201d Zelnick\u2019s latest comments align with that sentiment, suggesting the publisher is committed to raising the bar before BioShock 4 sees the light of day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
