The prehistoric gang is back. Disney has confirmed the sixth entry in the beloved Ice Age franchise will be called Ice Age: Boiling Point and is set to arrive in theaters on February 5, 2027.
The announcement came during Destination D23 in Orlando, where Disney revealed the film’s fiery premise: a dinosaur-and-lava-filled adventure that sends Manny, Sid, Diego, Ellie, Scrat, and the rest of the herd deep into unexplored corners of the Lost World.
Fans will be glad to hear that the core voice cast — Ray Romano, John Leguizamo, Queen Latifah, Denis Leary, and Simon Pegg — are all set to reprise their roles.
The last mainline entry, Ice Age: Collision Course (2016), grossed $408.5 million worldwide. Since the debut of the original Ice Age in 2002, the franchise has spawned four sequels, a spinoff (The Ice Age Adventures of Buck Wild), and shorts on Disney+. Altogether, the series has earned more than $3.2 billion globally.
At the same event, Disney also unveiled Hexed, an upcoming original film directed by Josie Trinidad (Zootopia+) and Jason Hand (Moana 2), following a teenage boy who discovers magical powers. Other projects teased included Toy Story 5, Tron: Ares, and Zootopia 2.
With a confirmed release date and its original cast back together, Ice Age: Boiling Point looks ready to thaw out long-time fans and capture a new generation when it hits theaters in 2027.
