The Man of Steel is almost here – but not without a little drama. Ahead of its July 11 global release, the upcoming Superman film — the first chapter in James Gunn’s revamped DC Universe and the big debut of David Corenswet as Clark Kent — has gone through the CBFC scissors in India.

Here’s what got trimmed:

• All foul language has been scrubbed.
• An eight-second gesture that was a little too cheeky? Gone. (Well, replaced by a shorter shot.)
• And the big one: a 33-second “sensual” visual, split across two scenes, completely deleted.

Insiders say fans at the July 9 premiere noticed the cuts — especially the edited kiss that felt a bit… awkward. But the studio’s hands were tied: CBFC rules are rules.

The final runtime stands at 2 hours 10 minutes and 44 seconds, with a U/A 13+ rating. So, yes — Superman still soars into theaters on July 11 as planned.

CBFC edits aren’t new for Hollywood blockbusters. Remember Thunderbolts losing its swear words? Or how Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning had to tone down language? Studios sometimes even play it safe by self-censoring — like Warner Bros. did with Brad Pitt’s F1: The Movie and the upcoming Mickey 17.

Bottom line? The DC reboot is ready to land — just a little cleaner than James Gunn probably intended.
